Comment by tonydizzle Looks to be the new "orb" or "primo" of Cataclysm for crafting. Was typing right as oz apparently XD However I'm guessing these will drop from Heroics, not Raids, just like the Frozen Orbs at the start of Wrath. Comment by tmptfate This is confirmed as the new Frozen Orb equivalent. Drops from Heroics and only drops once per Heroic instance.

Everyone will be able to roll on new orbs that drop, and any existing chaos orbs will become tradeable. Comment by Flarius The. Comment by Kaylin Anything it touches is destroyed, as is Chaos Orb. Comment by Benegesserit WTB Chaos Confetti. Comment by Benegesserit Huge difference.

Comment by broken0chaos Primal Nether started out like that in TBC. I imagine we'll see these become unbound in a few patches. Hopefully they are easily available with JP before 85, though, as they're an important part of some useful pieces that can be equipped sub such as Engineering goggles. Comment by bitterman i dont know abt this BOP thing. How would I go about getting an item made from a blacksmith if I wanted it?

Wowhead Forums

Comment by Pythagoreant bitterman: Back then, they would charge anywhere from g, which was a lot at the time. Comment by Aesica These are incredibly effective against opponents who stack their mana and play their cards close together. Too bad they're typically banned in tournaments.

Comment by Keishidu Its cool I got the Magic reference. Comment by kostyan I don't see how this can be right, Engineering goggles "Requires Level 81" and are BOP, but to get mats you need to be level Either an oversight or engineers are getting screwed, think it's the latter. It'll probably get changed to BOE at some point in the future but until then this implementation is underwhelming. Comment by fyrieusx It's always been like that, see Surestrike Goggles v3. Comment by Theorw Well if they stay BOP i see BS having a nice lead in terms of gear and also a lot of competition due to the various price range each BS will put his orbs at.

Guild runs will be the best way to gather these till maybe next patch. And i dont see the reason not to pass on all loot from HCs and get the orb for myself in return. The gear i ll craft will prolly be better than HCs! Comment by NeilReynolds It's always been like that, see Surestrike Goggles v3. Comment by Aesica Sadly, it seems nobody else does. Comment by Sadari hopefully these stay bound so players are actually forced to attain their gear.

Comment by hampton1 It will dramatically cut down on mat demand so less farming. While raising the cost of boes to actually be noveltys again instead of being used to completely gear alts in a day.

Comment by kpsting Apparently these gonna be worthless to those with two gathering professions. Comment by Exogino BoP like frozen orbs on wotlk's first months.

Probably, when chaos orb's craft will be less valued, will be tradable. Comment by InorganicMatter Here's hoping that LFD won't let you roll on these if you don't have a crafting profession that can use them. It shouldn't matter, but there's always going to be some jerk out there who rolls just to get a laugh out of screwing someone over.

Comment by Tunedbeats Someone submit a screenshot:. Comment by sqrly Why doesn't blizzard just come right out and say "We support gold buying"? With these being BOP, you can't go gather your own mats and look for a crafter, you'll have to pay whatever stupid price they extort from you.

Comment by Stormrage At the start of the last few xpacs the eng goggles did not start a lower level requirement, Nor primal nethers boe. All of those things changed with time. Comment by sp00n Haven't seen any of these drop in our heroic runs so far. Either bugged or really a raid drop.

Comment by Spl4sh3r This is incorrect. Just completed Heroic Lost City of the Tol'vir and no Chaos Orb dropped. Comment by clavarnway Submitted, awaiting approval. Comment by Ambroos I'm starting to fear these are really only raid drops. Comment by pifflehat They're not raid-only, but they are either bugged or rare.

Just saw one in a heroic SFK run, off of Lord Godfrey. Did the right thing and passed, because Alchemy doesn't seem to use them. Comment by snuffwig Do these only drop if a player in the group has Chaos Orbs as a listed mat for an item? Six heroics complete and I'm yet to see a single one: Comment by Faerun92 Droped for me a couple of hours ago from the last boss in Blackrock Caverns heroic mode.

Comment by sp00n Does drop today, maybe fixed. Comment by sunsmoon Having a Chaos Orb pattern doesn't seem to increase the drop rate. I assumed it'd be a more common drop so I went ahead and bought both leatherworking cloak patterns, plus the mail and leather agi items so 6 patterns total, cost me 15 stacks of Savage Leather I've yet to see a single orb drop and some of these patterns require multiple.

Looks like they're going to be very expensive unless the drop rate is fixed here's hoping it will be after the restart this morning. Either I'm really lucky or the drop rate has been increased. Out of 5 heroics I saw 5 Chaos Orbs drop and won 3, which is 6k gold on my server. Comment by vanchak Well they're not going to be Very Expensive as they're BoP.

Comment by Volpe39 The new enginering epic goggles require only level 81 Chaos orbs are bop and drop only in level 85 heroics? Ok I'm missing something or this makes no sense? Comment by morbit Engineering helmets are boe if I'm remembering correctly, so you can AH them. Comment by Mareric They do infact drop from heroic boss at end of heroc.

Comment by regicide Just got one from H Throne of the Tides. To clarify I don't currently have any patterns or anything that requires one. First Heroic, first orb. Comment by rhinodude i needed it as an alchemist hoping i could use it, but sadly cannot. Comment by Palatje Also note that the 2 hours trade time between the members that were present when the BoP item drops does not work on this item.

So needing for a crafter friend against randoms won't work. Comment by Attenborough Keep in mind that this orb cannot be traded between group members after the roll is won. Comment by Skellum6 I ran one heroic on the 8th. The chaos orb did not drop from that instance. From there on out a chaos orb has dropped from every end boss from every instance I've run. It appears the orb was bugged but has sense been fixed. They are the Cata equivalent of a primal vortex. They're BoP and if you're a tailor they will be your only way of getting enough dream cloth to realistically craft anything.

Expect to pay out the nose to get anyone to make you something using them. Comment by jaykaywhy How is it 6k gold on your server if its BoP? Comment by sunsmoon No longer relevant as of 4. I explained this once beforebut I suppose I can explain it in slightly simpler terms: While I cannot sell the orb itself, I can sell the item it crafts as well as offer to craft those items for a fee.

Currently on my server that fee is 2k minimum per orb. This isn't a fee that I or other crafters have set, but rather what others have offered to have access to the patterns I possess.

In essence, I'm selling my orbs for 2k each. The only issue is that you're limited to supplying the materials to craft something. As a leather worker, that means an arguably BIS pre-raid chest and belt for INT and AGI based leather and mail wearers. This is exactly what happened with Primal Nethers and Nether Vortex during BC when they were BOP.

While you couldn't trade the crafter any that you needed, you would be required to pay an acquisition cost in order to craft anything that required them. Think of it as buying primordial saronites, but they go straight to your crafter instead of sitting in your bags. It's also no different than purchasing the materials for a crafted item off the person who you intend to craft it.

Comment by koimagheul worst. BoP like frozen orbs on wotlk's first months. Comment by spitfire i imagine this would be a bit harder to rip up. Comment by Velict After roughly 20 heroics, I have yet to see an end boss not drop a Chaos Orb. Comment by sunsmoon The drop rate has been fixed. Only crafters blacksmiths, tailors, engineers, and leatherworkers can roll on the orbs.

RESPBREAK DELIM Neutronimity DELIM. Comment by DELNindoriel They should at least be account bound. My main has no crafting profession and will not make any use of them. All my alts that have crafting professions aren't 85 yet, and will not be any time soon. So they won't get any. Comment by Umran Cool story bro, too bad your a liar Comment by sztosz Aren't they BoP?

Comment by Mcluven So I have 4 of these and then find out I can't use them cause of my professions. Comment by Vincenz If you don't have crafting professions, and don't plan on learning any, then do the decent thing and pass on the orbs. Comment by Ironfungus Collect seven of these and you can be just like Super Sonic! Comment by Yskonijn Well, then you're one of those rare people who think about others, instead of themselves. I do think it's a dumb move to make these orbs BoP, what's the point of that?

If you want something to have crafted by someone else, it's not possible, unless you pay a large amount of gold to that person for HIS orbs that he or she uses. I do hope they "fix" this problem soon and make them BoE or that people without use of them, cannot roll on need, seems also fair to me. Comment by Yata That's only a bad thing if you're an Entitled Casual.

Comment by Incomingheal It seems tailors have almost no business rolling on these; we only need 5 per week at max-levelled profession, other wise the only thing we can create with them are bank alt dresses.

Comment by Falconi Wow. I think Ripley said it best, "Did IQ's just DROP sharply while I was away? Comment by Trax72 What are people charging for Chaos Orbs when crafting an item for others? Comment by pigpigpig I was in a group with a friend and of course, everyone rolled need on it, my friend told me he'd give it to me if he won and he did win, but it is completely BOP and NOT trade able at all after being looted.

Like the Precious's Ribbon that I accidentally ninja'd from my guild. Comment by yodadoe Well, someone above stated: Also note that the 2 hours trade time between the members that were present when the BoP item drops does not work on this item.

Comment by jaykaywhy So basically, you're rolling "Need" on these over the other members of your party because you "Need" gold. Comment by herenvardo There is a key difference: They had the obvious "Requires Engineering " and the implicit requirement for the BoP Primal Nether. When the nethers became unbound, a level requirement of 62 was added to ensure engineers wouldn't abuse the lack of requirement by power-leveling their engineering and buying the nethers.

After thatall goggles have had a level requirement. Actually, there is a "tier 0" of BC goggles, that never had any level requirement nor used primal nethers, but required higher engineering skillmax skill by then for non-gnomeslike the Gnomish Battle Googles, but these seem more an exception than a rule.

Now that the "nether equivalent" is BoP again, it's unclear why blizzard has kept the level requirements on the BoP items that need it: Seeing the antecedents like enchanting recipes needing a rod unobtainable at the skill upon which the recipe is learntI'd rather bet for the overlooking theory. Comment by Maretto i rly dont think that these orbs will be BoE Comment by gablaxmen personnaly on my serv its gold each.

Comment by NerdEsq The worst part is, they can't sell them. They would just be rolling need to be a jerk and take it from someone else. Comment by raphealis Ahhh why it isn't BoA item: Comment by kybotica These orbs, while somewhat rare, are selling for far greater sums than is necessary.

I am wearing 5 different epics, raiding a bit, and have done enough heroics to know that, while initially difficult to obtain, these are far from the rarity most crafters will say they are. We all pass if we cannot use them, which begs the question. In same-server groups, where do these orbs go? It seems likely that many crafting professions are hoarding these, acting like they're rarer than they really are, and driving prices sky-high.

It is absolutely ridiculous to be asked to pay THOUSAND gold for one of these. Comment by Zift I thought these are BOP items?

If they are BOP then how are people selling them? Comment by sammyd Players with crafting professions that can use the orbs should be able roll Need on them, and just allow anyone to roll Greed.

Same as a cloth class rolling greed on a plate piece. Comment by Yzzami This is a high object for ninja looting atm. People won't say anything then wait 10 seconds or so after everyone's clicked greed then say "Let's roll need for crafting" and need on it.

Or just wait till people have greeded out of courtesy for the others, then roll need. Or, say "greed on orb" then need after everyone has greeded, ect. Some people are just so desperate Comment by SLoPPYALieN Looks like the following change was just made via Hotfix: A hotfix was applied about an hour ago that changes it so Chaos Orbs will only be available for Need rolls by characters with Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, and Engineering minimum skill of required.

This fix may not appear until the next time realms are restarted, which is likely to be early tomorrow morning. Comment by phyber Hotfixed so that only characters with crafting professions can roll on it. Blacksmithing, Engineering, Leatherworking or Tailoring 2. Comment by Lester http: Chaos Orbs can now only been seen and rolled on by characters with a minimum skill level of in Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, or Engineering.

Comment by vaulgatnis Rolling for this item has been fixed, only those who actually can use it can roll on it. According to the blue post, you'll need a minimum skill level of in Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, or Engineering to even see this. Comment by mark From Zarhym: This is a bug. Comment by castro In a hotfix yesterday, the rolling for the Chaos Orb was restricted only for the 4 crafting professions that can use it. Tailoring, Engineering, Blacksmithing and Leatherworking.

Comment by Coryenne Confirmation post by Zarhym, a Blizzard Community Manager: Comment by larosejh Chaos Orb from Mtg. Comment by Lexdivina Seems they finally have learned, as of today, people who can't use them, don't see them so they can't roll on them anymore. Comment by oshosh i completely don't get that Comment by cramblock can these be traded to participants in the dungeon group after received?

Comment by WoWChico No, it cannot be traded once looted. Both of us were the only ones able to "need" on this items using the bliz UI in the 5 man group.

These are REALLY soul bound. Comment by Veggieburger as of the hot fix on Dec 21st: Personally, I like this change. I'm sick and tired of epics being easy to get. I love that some items crafted with these aren't epic!

I hope that if they add patterns that use these orbs as materials, they keep that same spirit in mind. Comment by oshosh yeah, but ppl say they gonna remove BoP and make them work like frozen orbs. Comment by MjPain I'm an engineer lvl 81 and want to make those lvl81 epic googles. Now, how can I do it? And I think the end of WOW as online game is near.

Comment by HockeyHippo If you're a LW, what a good price to charge people for these? Comment by dumac Not totally psyched over this for some reason of valid: Very true that it was like this in TBC and it was not a great solution back then either, remember having to run people through heroics to let them get their nether sometimes i wanted a gear piece crafted.

Personally i could get help from guildies, others people may not. Comment by mccall In my mind this is merely another example of Blizz's new guild-centric play model. The fact is that membership in a guild now has distinct, measureable advantages versus independent play. In addition to groups looking for a tank or healer to run a heroic, they will now be forced to another level of complexity in group recruiting i.

LF LW with Agi Mail chest pattern for heroic runs, pst. This makes it more likely for guild members to form full groups to ensure they get the orbs and therefore the crafted pieces for their members. I personally think it's annoying, and liked the frozen orb model better. Blizz got rid of rolling on shards because enchanters got uppity back in BC and thought they should always get the void crystal, leading to massive whining and entitlement fights.

At the end of the run, I did as much to help the group reach their goal as did the crafter. This is penalizing persons who take gathering professions or who have alc, insc, or JC. Flip side, they are rewarding professions that are historically less profitable on some servers, but granting a monopoly on anything so widely sought by your player base is a bad idea. Comment by cisox What are people charging for the use of these?

I have a guildie who has all of the mats for an epic, but will, of course, be using my orbs. Comment by Wizeowel Free for guildies, of course. Comment by jbo As a leatherworker, I'm glad of the crafters only need change.

We didn't receive any new bags to craft this school binary options trading scams, so for medium volume sales we're stuck with leg patches. Gives us some higher end profits to focus our efforts on to counter the loss of common sales. Comment by Xathian Pointing out cp money maker 2.0 free download inconsistencies doesn't make someone new to a game.

Btw, the "work" for the gear? They already did that by spending hours or thousands of gold leveling the damn profession to gain access to the item. If the heroic is the requirement, then why bother having it require max engineering or the other, expensive mats alongside the Stop loss hunting forex By the time I can make the Engineering helmet, and win the roll over other crafters for the Orb, I already have access to nearly equivalent alternatives, making the "endgame" problems learning about money ks1 for launch day Engineering partially obsolete outside a slight customization.

Next time, try sticking to backing up your arguments with logical points rather than just trying to call someone a tired, overused "insult". Comment by Zhell Seems Trading forex pakai bb can only use this to make Marlin 22 model 60 replacement parts. Dreamcloth is then used as the main or indeed only component for cloth gear.

Comment by gtadem To those unclear, this is the page for chaos orb, not engineering, etc. Comment by kg What's considered roll courtesy on these? Most groups I see go all greed roll, but occasionally I see someone need roll. Considering their scarcity and that only people who can actually use them can roll, theoretically if you can roll on it, you'll "need" it. Comment by Pais BoE? How can something you can't equip, bind on equip?

Comment by oreo that is stupid that they made BoP and only crafters can roll on them. I mean some people do like to gather the materials for the BOE epics they want rather then spend all their money on them.

Comment by jehnihphur you can still gather mats, give them to your crafter, and compensate them for orbs. Comment by weirdunclebob As a tailor, I'll just keep rolling need on these for now. I'll hold onto them until Blizz finally relent and give us worthwhile patterns to use them in or they become BoE in which case I'll either sell them or make dreamcloth with them. Pretty lame for us, at the moment, in my humble opinion.

Can't have it all, I guess. Actually, I'll give them to my alts who probably won't get to do heroics for a while but would still benefit from these such as my engineer.

The head piece is sweet as is the crossbow for my hunter. At least make them Bind to Account, Blizz! This is getting ridiculous! Comment by zerodefekz I think I may have found a way around this BoP system. Form a guild group to run the dungeon. Comment by manoymon if you are going to do that, why don't your guildies how to make alotta money fast pass to whoever needs to craft something?

Comment by Talvias Most pugs I do, everyone who can use it needs on it. This stops the inevitable ninja who waits for everyone to roll greed on it and then needs it.

Comment by zerodefekz Um It's a guaranteed win. Regardless of how you do it, you won't have to worry about the extra competition of winning it. Comment by talexh I wish its not BoE so i can give it to BS to make me epic gear D:. Comment by Knabber indeed banned. Comment by Tormendead I can see why Blizz would do this, give a chance to some of the other professions to make gold.

In all honesty though, money hack virtual families 2 android sucks. My biggest problem is stock trading in islam, I am a druid alchemist.

I run the heroic, same as say a druid leather worker, so why, at the end of the heroic, does he get something he can now turn around and charge me 2k gold for? Then, much like the kid at Starbucks with a tip jar, expects me not only to purchase said orbs, but tip him for crafting my new ridiculous priced item? Comment by bobalobabingbong Except for when I commodity futures option brokers in london to get the mats together for Elementium Spellbladeand I have to find a blacksmith that has some to spare.

Which is turning out terribly, because they want so much for them. It's honestly not right that I can't loot them. I need them just as much as the next guy. Comment by coldviper18 Would be nice if there was some form of way to get these via PvP. Seeing that their only dropped in heroics and me, I hate and never do dungeons or raiding aside from a few leveling up. Not to mention all I really have is PvP gear and I'm not going out of my way to gear up to do a bunch of heroics for this one item.

All I want is my Bio Optic Killshades and since I can't buy this bad boy, I'm pretty much going to have to get carried in heroics and piss people off just to get this one thing that I'd be happy to real time forex turkish lira a price for but instead I'm forced to do something I really don't care to just to get an item for a profession. I mean if it was even something like 5k Conquest Points, I'd still be happy.

I just really hate dungeons with random people who like to blame everyone else for their problems. Comment by Jolster I think it would be better for these to be BOE. I have many of these and dont use them. I dont sell my LW due to being only skill in it. Yet have 10 orbs i cant do anything with. Would be better if i could sell them. Maybe blizz could take note? Comment by Baitur Except that you CAN'T trade it to the blacksmith even if you got it, it's bop.

There is NO reason for someone who hasn't got a crafting profession to have these. Comment by RicardoZ It also screws those of us that don't have those professions because it makes it impossible for us to be able to get them and get crafted items.

You think a leatherworker is going to use his OWN supply barclays stockbrokers login page them when I pm and ask for something? You can't even buy them in the AH at least there haven't been any on my server. Comment by nayrb Yet have 10 orbs i cant do anything with. Comment by nayrb OMG Zerodefekz!

You're a flippin' genious! I wonder why anyone else hasn't thought of that. Please continue pressing the - negative sign beside the "rating" button.

Oh, and this dude is still an idiot. Comment by Burdrann the reason you can't find them on the auction house is because they are BoP like others have said repeatedly. Epic LOL and lots of confusion after that. They decide to banned the card to avvoid this kind of situation and some others kinds of mini-game cards, like bet-cards Comment by Jolster myabe i started it before i got a job?

If you'd read the god damn description, you'd see it's BoP. Just sayin, I'm sure that others are in agreement with me on this. Comment by elrond I want one of these for my deck. Comment by Titanius05 Chaos Orb are not Frozen orbs. You spent the time to acquire assuming you want profit and then sold them.

Crafting them into something was optional and could yield greater profit. Chaos Orbs are dual input. They require acquisition AND crafting before they can become profit. To complain about not being able to sell them is like whining about it taking to much time to gear for raids and then for heroic raids. As far as you have a job now and such, that's just an excuse.

If there's something you want in life, you have to make time for it. If you have to pass on it for something else you want, that's an opportunity cost and you're not what it takes to become a stockbroker anybody any favors crying about it here.

Comment by Talvias I'd like to point something out. Comment by sfreemanoh OK, I have the same issue with this numerous other people do And don't tell me it's difficult to get the orbs Or else, make the higher end JC'ing, Enchanting and Alchemy recipes require the orbs as well.

Or, stop charing for the orbs. I can get gear made from guildies without having to pay for the orbs, but not everyone is in the same boat as I am. Comment by MacGruff There is NO reason for someone who hasn't got a crafting profession to have these. Comment by pokedude Tailors got rather badly boned on this one it seems.

One dreamcloth or a vendor-quality black dress that my male gnome would look awful in - not much compared to those killshades. How long 'till they add some recipes do you think? Comment by stevebat Can inscriptionists make Chaos Confetti? Comment by hunterdas Please note, As some clearly dont understand in this thread, Chaos Orbs are Bind on Pickup BoP.

You cannot buy them on the AH or trade them. Comment by Pesulin As a engineer this is completely wasted, and only stacks up in the bag For the rest 6 schematics that uses Chaos Orb you can create the Epic-head items, which requires Engineering to have That means you will most probably use ONE chaos orb 15 minute binary options trading system create the epic head-item that you will use for yourself.

Comment by edgeblade Shouldn't be BOP, none of the other orbs were. Comment by fatolcay I really think that the skill needed to "need" these should be Comment by abdan I agree this needs to be changed. So I guess I need to buy gear from another blacksmith so I can get the gear I need to go in the instance to get the how to get a lot of gold in aqw to make gear which I will no longer need.

What's the point of that? Comment by matuhenzy apprently you need a crafting proffesion with a level of for these to drop, is this this true? Comment by link A lot of earlier posts state that this will become BoE in a future patch. Does anyone have a source for this information, or is this just a rumor that people are mistakenly using as fact?

Comment by Titanius05 This is just theory for the time being. It are binary option taxable in canada probability some degree of sense because the craftables at subsequent raiding tiers will have to have a new type of orb probably BoPand those made with this orb will yield items not suitable for that tier.

Thus it will become for more entry level gearing, which would not make sense to have to spend as much time to acquire. Comment by Uhellig Beware this idiot poster! The above link is to what appears to be an advertisement site or, most likely a malicious code. Comment by Valkyriestar Will there ever make chaos orb's not bind when picked up? Like how after a while frost orbs was able to be sold and traded? Comment by Valkyriestar Nope, i do engineering and alchemy on my pally and only my alch is maxed out but these still are available for me: Hope this response helped.

Comment by gev pfft, they don't fit in LW bags Doesn't seem right, but oh well. Comment by Therook And what item drops for Alchemists, Jewelcrafters, Inscripsionists, etc.

Especially since only they would profit from the selling of the item they make. Or do those get the orbs then bow out on getting other drops? Comment how to trade the spread on binary options profitably review hunterdas Wow is this Blizzards way to upset all there good players - 6 Heroic dungeons later and still not won 1 chaos orb.

WTG bliz - expect all the changes you have made over the past six months have lost you at least half your players, People dont mind spending time to get achievements, but the game is losing appeal to alot quickly now. Everyone that needs an orb should get one at the end of a run, if that is too cheap then just make items require more orbs, but you can run 10 recommended brokers for shorting penny stocks - dungeons and not win an orb.

Thats what makes it wrong. Not hugely fair to some still but at least then you have a fighting chance to purchase them after x heroics rather than at present you could do an indefinite cp money maker 2.0 free download of runs and still never be sure to win even one.

Comment by Sycosaint this is one time that i have to say it BLIZZARD UR JUST WRONG FOR THIS! I mean think about it. Crafters are going insane with the price of there items because they are selling orbs to make the gear for g per orb.

I know im not alone in my thinking but just had to put it out there. Comment by pz forex ea I agree the economy in WoW stinks for many reasons.

And people price-gouge often. But this item changing away from BoP isn't going to cure it. Personally i thought rolling a toon involved ALSO selecting a profession that will suit what you want to do. SO you re-roll a forex forex trading secrets book, or spend more money on getting your gear crafted or from the AH.

Gold Capped: How to make gold as an enchanter

It does asain stock markets fact make sense. Comment by dogvetusa It has been months since the expansion came out and my ultra casual self has two these. I really just wish the left how to make money with jc and enchanting 5.4 boe and greed only. Comment by Helza And here i am stacking up on orbs like crazy, getting 1 orb atleast every 2 hc's On avarage i see only 3 ppl needing the orb's if you pug hc's.

Kudos to those of you who understand how nice it is that these are BoP for crafters with professions who can use them. I can't use these orbs for picking up herbs or mining and therefore I don't need to ever roll on them. I love it that these are something that only the crafters can roll on and acquire.

It's a good incentive to level up a bs, tailor, etc. If ya'll feel like you're going to be ripped off by having to pay for an orb, then ask a guildie to help you out.

If these were available via AH then it'd be too ridiculously easy for anyone including gatherers like myself to get them and use them to have items crafted and then be resold on the AH Just my opinion, but gold is fairly easy to acquire now so I'm not sure how you can boohoo about paying for some orbs if it's for some gear you really want. Do some dailies, craft your own stuff to sell, etc. Seems to me anyone who wants to complain about this obviously hasn't been playing for long and just wants it all handed to them on a silver platter.

That's all for me. I'm sitting on these things about ready to chuck them away if I don't get a use from them in a patch soon. Comment by robert How many dungeons do you have to do to get one? I got one on the first HC i completed. Have done 5 or 6 since and not got one.

Hope its not being Ninja'd. Comment by Bandit In case you were wondering, these do drop off the final bosses in the new Heroic Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman dungeons as well.

I assume if a new type of orb is going to be introduced it won't be until the next Tier of gear releases. Comment by Bandit So what? I ran Heroic BRC at least 20 times before the bracers I needed finally dropped from Corla. Not everyone gets a piece of gear at the end of a dungeon, why would this be any different? Comment by I2o77eN makes a lot of sense to drop these in heroics BoP so to gear up you have to run these instances under geared.

Comment by Deltethnia Now if only they'd make it so this orb could be put into appropriate profession bag s It just doesn't make sense that they can't. I wonder what the reasoning behind this is?

Comment by scorpio As of 4. Comment by matt As of the first iteration of 4. I've linked a few patterns below from the Wowhead PTR site for reference: Don Tayo's Inferno Mittens Pattern: Don Tayo's Inferno Mittens Plans: Warboots of Mighty Lords Plans: Warboots of Mighty Lords Crafters: Stock up on your orbs now!

Even if this changes which, let's face it, is highly possible having a few extra orbs can't hurt. Comment by sopor30 Is this bugged? I had an alt with inscription and herbology that was able to roll on this after heroic deadmines today. First time it's ever happened. Comment by TrollanGaems Being the nice guy I am, I just roll greed on these on my Engineer hoping that others with professions with better use for these win them with need rolls, and I still keep getting more. I've got over 20 orbs now taking up how to make money with jc and enchanting 5.4 in my bags.

I can't bring myself to throw them away since I still hold out hope they won't be soulbound at some point. Or maybe required in some new profitable Engineer recipe.

Comment by dingbot1 Schematic: Comment by mryamz Why wouldn't you just pass or make something with them to sell on the ah? You can still make money charging ridiculously low prices by doing this.

You make gold, someone gets gear they've been wanting. To roll on them then throw them away later is pretty idiotic and inconsiderate of everyone. Comment by healingenzo Still just fishing floats for engineers - pretty much worthless, after 4. Comment by Nxwtypx And even if they don't, rip it up and throw it easiest way of earning money in india them!

Comment by IbeNewt From the Ask A Developer series, posted by Blizzard earlier today here. Are there any plans to make Chaos Orbs BoA or even BoE? They will be unbound in a future patch. Comment by Ineras This is from Ask the Devs 7: Comment by Hashupa I love spending hours just to get my hands on ONE of these, just because some idiot wants to "sell" it. Five dungeon runs later, I still don't have the single orb I need for my helmet. Make these available some other way, please Tcs stock price in nasdaq Too many hoarders rolling on them.

Comment by Tesserex As a player with several crafter characters I hate that these are BoP and that I have to run an instance to get them on each character that needs them to craft. It's just stupid - I thought the devs had learned this lesson. There are other, better ways to make rare or special items for crafters, if that's what they want to do. Adding more grind to a grind-fest system does NOT add to the fun of WoW.

Glad to know they are going to fix it. Comment by ironkodiak Is there a minimum crafting profession skill you have to have to get these? I'm thinking about switching my gathering profession to crafting and I'd love to get a chance to get a few of these before I actually get to so I can start making stuff right as I hit Comment by daathfeuer You are taking his words too literally.

He means, simply because it is BoP, does not mean the orbs have no value. Yes, technically they may not be directly traded, the consumption of orbs does incur a fee, generally. Comment by IbeNewt Chaos Orbs can now only been seen and rolled on by characters with a minimum skill level of in Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, or Engineering.

Comment by Mairin Logic would suggest that they'd only become unbound once they stop being useful for the lower current tier pre Comment by ChronicAddict I think it is absurd that these are BoP. You have to have the profession to have a chance to acquire them, but people always charge for them. If I have to pay for them why the hell should I not be allowed to roll on them?

While I can understand why Blizzard did this, I really don't think it turned out well. Comment by alphazod i hate instances in general and the fact that i may not get one after going through all that makes me wanna go through it even less. Like working them into the PvP side, or even just making it so that everyone who is able to use them gets one in the instances they drop in now.

Comment by xpectz Extremely unfair to PvP based players like me. Blizz forces you to run a heroic for these which is near impossible seeing how I am in full PvP gear. How the hell do they expect me to acquire these if I do not PvE? They should have made these around honor points or k conquest points for PvPers to obtain. Comment by demonblackie You're taking the terms 'bought' and 'sold' too literally.

In this case, sunsmoon is correct in that you can sell them, it's just more figurative. Comment by Crazyrussian97 There is no point in you having them if you cannot personally craft an item that uses them. Comment by ziggy29 I think it's good that, as long as the only way to get them is an instance drop from bosses, they have made it so only those who can reasonably use them can claim "need".

I also don't have a problem with the BoP property of them. But I do think there should be another way for crafters to get them besides requiring runs at heroic bosses. It could BoP like it does now, so "farmers" can't just sell them, but only who want to use them can get them.

Seriously, I think it's a terrible idea to require high end crafted goods to require something that involves repeatedly going after heroic bosses and hoping you get the drop. I like that it can't be farmed for profit, especially with the current implementation. Comment by EmoQQ No, sorry, but Frozen Orbs have NEVER been BoP. Comment by wowjimmy28 hey jackass they were BoP when WoTLK came out and as Zeratul37 said they didn't become BoE until runed orbs came out.

Comment by Benegesserit They should just make them available for Valor since they will be used in 4. Comment by Zane Funny how people without enchanting can actually use Maelstrom Crystals.

Comment by Plaguespreader I don't get time to spend hours raiding to get these orbs because of family commitments. It would great to see these as maybe a rep. Comment by Mikhail1 Anyone know why those are still soulbound? Comment by Mystikan Because Blizzard are pricks who no longer listen to their players. The fact that they didn't unbind these for 4.

Comment by GUSIS Such a disapointment about this orb: So,what can i do now? Comment by toxee I think the most fair solution would be to let you buy the orbs for a reasonable price with justice points. If they kept them soulbound you wouldn't have people selling them and crafters would have a much more secure way to obtain orbs and continue to work their professions.

As it is, tying the dungeon system to crafting has turned working your profession if you're a tailor, leatherworker, or blacksmith into nothing more than an occasional privilege. You would have to sit up forever running dungeons just to get two or three when everyone needs.

Almost makes the professions that need the orbs pointless. As in not the same price as a piece of gear or something stupid like that. Making the new Firelands patterns require 5 as if it wasn't enough of a pain to collect 3. Comment by LordBalrog Except we are nigh-unto a month into Patch 4.

I would gladly pay 2k Justice or 3k Honor to avoid having to run Heroics just for Orbs. Better late than never. That goes further than my suggestion, but they also waited forever to do it. Comment by DivineIxen It does rather suck that I have a bunch of these on toons who don't need them or can't use them I hope Blizz makes them BoA or something.

Or even buying them with JP. I'd be happy if they were still soulbound but I could at least BUY them! Comment by lilykin All I want to do is make my Bio-Optic Killshades and I can't because of this stupid thing. Way to go Blizz, once again you alienate the causal player. Comment by Mazzacr Actually a Maelstrom Crystal is only used by an enchanter Comment by Mazzacr Only an enchanter actually uses the Maelstrom Crystal His point was valid.

Blizz needs a poke in the eye with a sharp stick for this. Comment by Natetendo I suspect the ultimate root of the BoP nature of Chaos Orb is quite simple: I suspect there are many features of the game which could be changed to make them more time efficient for "casual" players. I think it is highly unlikely that they will be unless other features are introduced which achieve a similar net effect on the amount of time players spend online.

Blizzard is a corporation. Much like other corporations, the goal is to generate revenue for it's officers and shareholders. Players pay Blizzard for the pleasure of amusing themselves online in a virtual world created and maintained by Blizzard. It is only logical that Blizzard would want players to spend more time online since players pay for their time online. I imagine there are probably entire teams of people whose job it is to monitor and maintain a balance of features that maximizes revenue while minimizing negative player feedback.

So, unless they receive enough negative feedback about a particular feature Chaos Orbs being BoP, for example to tip the balance, Blizzard has zero incentive to change the feature. I'm a "casual" player and my main toon is a Blacksmith, so I would only be pleased if Chaos Orbs became easier to obtain so I could make better equipment without having to spend so many hours grinding JP or VP or orbs.

Comment by Shadorinn imho, it's good that these are BoP and only available to those who can use them. At least these orbs drop from every boss and not raid, and if you STILL have an issue with paying extra for them, you could always level a crafting profession.

BoP orbs is a good concept in comparison to what was previously implemented into the game, and it helps to make the game a bit more interesting. Comment by joe choas orbs should be able to be used to make gear for the chars buy putting them in the no trade slot to be used to make gear or be accountbound so they can be traded between your players to get gear made since everyone is charging to much gold to make it because of orbs witch do not cost you gold anyhow but also anything soulbound needs to be accountbound anyways.

Comment by Janettie No, making them BOA would not be good. Grinding on an alt is still grinding. Better then the giant purple hole that he sent me last time. I tried to hard. This makes me very sad. Comment by Thrallscream I understand the BOP nature of these. But, I wish they weren't. I'm more of a do-it-myself kinda player and not being able to get my hands on these is a huge buzzkill for my leather-worker and BS.

Not a big fan of dungeons or random heroics. I PVP mostly and I wish we could at least buy them with honor points or some decent amount of conquest points. True we can always ask people with orbs to craft things, but that makes our own professions reliant on others, which sucks lol. They've already put the respective vendors for other items Maelstrom crystals for exampleseems logical.

At least then we would not HAVE to run heroics. But, I'm sure they will be BOE soon like frozen orbs. So until then, I'll keep'on truckin. Comment by jboomer As someone who spend most of my cooperative play time raiding, I find the whole chaos orb situation very frustrating. We kill firelands bosses daily, and get living embers, but still have to do heroics to get orbs to craft.

You should be able to get orbs as a result of doing raids, either as drops, or through purchase with justice points. Comment by Madzoink What real difference would unbinding chaos orbs have when heroic and raid armor sets have made crafting them redundant?

Comment by ljith i know u cant buy them but crafters will most likely charge u for them when u want somthing made but, whats the price they usually go for? Comment by Xtac Every person that plays, plays in their own way and for their own reasons, so try to not be critical of me when I say: I don't "do" instances, heroic or otherwise.

The group I used to run dungeons with have all left and I'm not interested in finding a new group, It is impossible for me to get any chaos orbs for my blacksmith, leatherworker, engineer, etc.

I don't make stuff to sell in the AH, just for my own characters, so, Just my 2 cents Comment by Cyphonner I like to wait until everyone greed rolls, then need and leave group.

Comment by kinark Chaos orbs will be bind on equip in patch 4. Comment by LoKHor Someone is trying to delete all of the comments that state that these are BoP. They are currently still BoP. Until PTR heads to live realms, stop trying to delete comments that are currently still relevant.

I realise it's a neat feature to be able to purge the database, but deleting comments before they are actually out-of-date is just fanatical. Comment by Aliok Edit: However, I think this post still makes a good point about proper use of the "Out of date" function. To the person or people marking several of these comments as "out of date": Chaos Orbs will be unbound in Patch 4.

Notice how I stressed "will" in the previous sentence. That means that it has yet to occur. Do not mark comments as out of date when the change has not made it to live servers and will not make it to live for at least a month, if not two. So, all you are trying to do is delete information that is still current.

Comment by Vlad In patch 4. Until the patch arrives, I suspect many that can will roll need on these, just so they can sell them on the AH once it is applied. Don't be mad at them, it's just business. Comment by Omok Chaos Orbs are becoming BOE in the 4.

Comment by DiablosMX As of 4. Comment by Thrallscream Wish granted. Dvote me to your hearts content suckers! Mwah ha ha ha ha. Comment by Random These orbs will become un bound in 4. They will be similar to frozen orbs where you can trade, put up on Auction House and roll on these even if you don't have a profession that can use them. Comment by Sangyen It would be nice if Bliz would limit who gets to roll Need on these once they are unbound.

Certainly hope that you have to have a crafting profession that used Chaos Orbs to be able to Need on them seeing as for all the dozens of randoms I have done I have exactly 2 orbs: Comment by Bloodytears They drop from heroics not raids.

What you saw was not a bug. Comment by littleminx On the PTR these are currently selling in AH for around gold. Comment by TheLustful It's too bad I got impatient with my tank sword and simply paid another blacksmith to use thier orbs. Guess I can just wait and make my own off-spec sword.

Comment by Superchief These are not going to bag you huge amounts of gold when they become BoE in patch 4. Stop stockpiling them you morons out there, remember frozen orbs. The most you'll sell these for is g each. You would make more selling mage portals in trade chat, please stop griefing players who can use the orbs properly before patch 4. Comment by abhayes Been waiting for these to become available on the AH.

Just saw the first two come up for g each. Anyone else seeing them on their Realm? Comment by windjammer72 As of 4. Comment by Measa These are currently selling for a buy out of - gold on my server. Just grabbed a number for some patterns for my priest and spent just shy of 3k gold for them. May just turn around and resell them for with a buy out of Comment by Blackhawk74 It's a Magic: The Gathering joke - http: Not sure why this rated a downvote. Somebody has a case of the Mondays.

Comment by hitaru these are now trade-able as of patch 4. Comment by pangel Now, since patch 4. Specially those engineering goggles. Also impact on dreamcloth, as in many realms 5 4 chaos orbs will be cheaper than 30 airs and waters. Dream of Destruction requires only 4 Chaos Orbs since 4.

Comment by Lopaz Since 4. Comment by Chaosrock shamanone is right, cuz that is EXACTLY what they are doing. Comment by Measa As of 4. Initial prices where 1 for 60 to gold, but over the week I've seen them drop to a buy out price of 50 gold. I just garbed 35 of them for black smiting last night and the most I spent was 54g for one. Comment by Valwardon Now I am not sure exactly what happened.

I know that now they are no longer soulbound. That is fine I can live with that. I took a short break come back ran some instances and boom last boss like always a chaos orb drops. I thought great I need 4 more.

Boy was I shocked when as a Blacksmith I can no longer need on chaos orbs. This has got to be a bug. How is it that as a blacksmith a profession that NEEDS chaos orbs can no longer need and people who have no use for them has a chance to roll.

Like I said i can live with the fact that anyone can greed on them but they should not have taken away my need roll for them as well. Holy smokes someone fired up a downrating robot on this page! Comment by baygul Prices continue to plummet, on Executus Alliance, they now go for less than 30G, and I expect them to level out at around G. Dose he have a chance to drop two or dose the wowhead client register drop even if you don't win?

Comment by Ethlin Oddly enough, on my realm they are selling less then Frozen Orbs currently. It just seems stupid Comment by CullensRule What do you do with it? I've got a prot pally geared for heroic MoP instances, but it's been so long, I can't decide which instance would be best to solo farm these. TY ahead of time for any suggestions. You can ignore every boss though, you may want to kill Slabhide for a chance at Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake and go straight for High Priestess Azil.

On the way to her you can also ignore most trash. I only had to clear every mob leading to Corborus and one trash pack before Ozruk that I accidently pulled.

Then of course the non-elite cultists leading to the final boss. Of course, I wasn't a stealth class so they'd have a much easier time accomplishing this speed run. Comment by gbalkam I think the only real use for these now is probably for tailors, who use them for the extra cloth procs.

Currently, the dream cloth still makes the best jewel crafting bag in game, that I know of. Comment by Qoko Interesting dual goals to get Chaos Orbs, mainly for mount farmers: Zul'Gurub Jin'do is your best option.

Killing Mandokir Armored Razzashi Raptor and Kilnara Swift Zulian Panther releases Jin'do. Most thrash is avoidable. If your goal is mainly Orbs, the Stonecore does give you an additional chance on the Slabhide mount Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake. Mind that the mount is farmable on normal, so this is not per se practical for the mount farming itself. The Stonecore option applies to the Vortex Pinnacle too, although Asaad is more apart from Altairus Reins of the Drake of the North Wind than Slabhide is from Azil.

Running the Hour of Twilight chain in order is relatively quick: Coincidentally, the remaining dungeons are all relatively slow to run through without additional permanent rewards. The only consistent use for Chaos Orbs has been mentioned in the previous comment, Dream of Destruction will give tailors a steady supply of Dreamcloth, for crafts or bags.

Making crafts can be profitable too but is very server dependant. Comment by stoneybridge Lost City of the Tol'vir is the quickest in case you are wondering, L90 takes a couple of mins.
